Codee3 is a free Windows IDE that runs your own Claude Code, signed in with your own Claude plan. Each Claude Code chat opens beside your files and terminal, and most questions it stops to ask show in one place. Install Claude Code and Git for Windows, open your folder in Codee3, and press New agent.
What you get
Claude Code itself doesn’t change. Codee3 starts your own copy, on your own account, under Anthropic’s terms. What Codee3 adds is the window around it: an editor, a terminal and your project, with every agent’s chat beside them.
Free, for as long as you like
- A code editor, terminal, search and extensions
- Claude Code chats beside your code: start as many as you like
- Codex and Gemini CLI in the same window, if you use them too
- Needs you: most questions an agent stops to ask, in one rail
- Agents read the project brain, a written record of what you decided
- Each new agent in its own git worktree; land its work in one step, and undo it
- Up to 2 projects open at a time
Founder, US$149 a year, adds
- An orchestrator: say what you want in plain words, and it plans the jobs
- Helpers working in parallel, each in its own git worktree
- Guards: a change that breaks a recorded decision is stopped
- Unlimited projects
1. Install Claude Code on Windows
Anthropic’s installer runs from PowerShell, and you don’t need to be an Administrator. Claude Code needs a Pro, Max, Team, Enterprise or Console account; the free Claude plan doesn’t include it.
Codee3 uses Git for every project, so install Git for Windows as well. Claude Code can run without it, using PowerShell for its commands, and uses Git Bash when Git is there.

Run claude once in a terminal and follow the browser prompts, with the Claude account you already pay for. The sign-in stays between you and Anthropic. Codee3 never sees a key or a password, and never resells AI.
3. Open your folder in Codee3
Open Codee3, choose your project’s folder, then press New agent and choose Claude. Its chat opens beside your files, and every agent you start is listed there, each with its own stop. Nothing in your folder is converted or moved, so you can still run Claude Code in a terminal whenever you like.
Which Claude Code GUI: Anthropic’s app or Codee3?
Anthropic makes its own desktop app for Windows, x64 and ARM64. Its Code tab runs Claude Code without a terminal, and can run parallel sessions, each in its own git worktree if you want. If Claude is the only agent you use, it may be all you need. Codee3 suits you if you also use Codex or Gemini CLI, want a full code editor around your agents, or want one written record of decisions that every agent reads. Side by side: Codee3 vs Claude Code Desktop.
