Codee3 is a Windows app where you brief AI coding agents in plain words and keep a record of what you’ve decided, so every agent follows it. You bring your own Claude, ChatGPT or Google AI plan and install its agent once. Free covers two projects open at a time; the Founder plan adds agents working at once.
What is Codee3, for someone who doesn’t code?
AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex and Gemini CLI can write code from a plain description, and you check the result. Codee3 is a Windows app where you talk to those agents, see the code they write, and keep a record of what you’ve decided so they don’t forget it.
You don’t need to read code to use it. You do need to be comfortable installing an app or two and describing what you want clearly. One more thing to know: “Founder” is also the name of our paid plan. You don’t need it to start.
Before you start
- A Windows 10 or 11 computer. There’s no Mac or Linux version yet.
- A plan with Claude, ChatGPT or Google AI, and its coding agent installed: Claude Code, Codex or Gemini CLI. Each maker’s page shows how; it’s usually one command, once. Codee3 never sells AI; you use the plan you already have.
- Somewhere to put the app when it’s ready, such as a hosting service: a company that keeps your app running on the internet. Codee3 builds it on your computer; it doesn’t host it.
Your first project
- Download Codee3 and install it. The installer isn’t code-signed yet, so Windows SmartScreen may say “Windows protected your PC”. Choose More info, then Run anyway. You can check the file’s fingerprint on the Download page first.
- On the start page, choose New empty folder for a new idea, or Open folder for one you have.
- Open the command palette and choose Adopt the Codee3 kit. It shows what it would add, then sets up the project’s brain: where your decisions live.
- Press New agent and choose your agent. When it asks “What should this agent do?”, say it the way you’d brief a person: who it’s for, what it does, what it must never do.
- Each time you make a choice, such as “bookings close at 5pm”, open the command palette and choose Keep a decision. Every agent you start after that is told to read it first.
Brief agents one job at a time, and ask them to explain what they changed in plain words. If they start wandering from what you asked, see stopping agents drifting; if a chat runs long, start fresh. A decision log for agents shows what a good decision looks like.
What the Founder plan adds
The Founder plan lets you say what you want once and have several agents work on it at the same time. Founder: US$149 a year, for your first year and your first renewal.
- Founder: an orchestrator you talk to in a small chat, in plain words. It plans the jobs and hands them to helpers.
- Founder: the orchestrator’s questions join Needs you, the one inbox for every question your agents are waiting on (in Free too), often with a choice you tap.
- Coming, included in Founder: orchestration that runs projects for days, and work that carries on while you’re away.
Several helpers at once use your AI plan’s limits faster, and heavy use on a consumer plan can be slowed or paused by the provider; the terms say more.
What it won’t do for you
- It won’t decide what to build. The brain keeps your decisions; it doesn’t make them.
- It won’t catch every mistake an agent makes. Try the app yourself before you show anyone.
- It won’t put your app online. That’s a hosting service’s job.
